Santa’s Grotto Experience.

Bring your child to our most magical Grotto experience ever. See their faces light up as they enter the Grotto and watch with glee as they talk with Santa and receive their special gift. Then to finish – all aboard the magical train journey.

What do I get in the experience?

This year enjoy the most magical Grotto experience we have ever created. This fantastic one to one experience gives children the opportunity to spend more quality time in Santa’s Grotto.

Knock quietly on the door before you enter, Santa may be sleeping (he’s a very busy man you know). Once you have woken the jolly old chap from slumber he chats with the children in the comfort of the cosy Grotto. Then it’s time for presents! A little knock on the hearth of the fireplace and from the chimney a present appears, beautifully wrapped and labelled with your child’s name, a special gift from Santa. Have your photograph with Santa and choose from a great range of products to have your picture displayed (additional charges apply). Then collect your golden ticket to board the magical train ride.

How do I print my tickets?

To print your tickets you can follow the link on your confirmation email or log in to your Santa’s Grotto account. Simply click the print ticket option. You can also save your tickets to your phone or other mobile devices.

Can I add an extra child to my booking?

To change your booking to add another child you will first need to cancel your existing booking and rebook with the additional child added. You can do this by logging into your Santas Grotto Account at

I forgot to buy a ticket for a member of my party, can they be squeezed in on the day?

Please check by calling the Grotto Hotline prior to your arrival to see if there are any tickets available for your session. If not, unfortunately due to health and safety we have to restrict the number of customers that enter the Grotto at any one time, therefore we cannot admit additional customers unless we have space in that session.

Can I cancel my booking?

You can cancel your booking up to 48 hours before your booking. You can do this by logging into your Santas Grotto Account at

and clicking the cancel link. You will be issued with a full refund within 3-5 working days.

Can I change my booking date and time?

To change your booking you will first need to cancel your existing booking and rebook. You can do this by logging into your Santas Grotto Account at My Account and following the instructions.

How do I get a refund?

Once you have cancelled your booking you will receive your email telling you that the slot has been cancelled. Your refund will follow and usually takes 3-5 working days. If you have not received your refund please email the:

Where is the Grotto located in Woodthorpe Garden Centre?

The Grotto Experience is located toward the back of the centre near our Ladybird Lodge Cafe at the back of plants.

What time should I arrive for my booking?

We strongly recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your booking. Make sure you have plenty of time to park your car and walk through the centre to the grotto location as it may be busy during peak times.

My child is sick and my booking is today can I cancel and rebook?

You can cancel at short notice by calling the Grotto Hotline on 01652 638 285

Can I bring my baby and do I have to pay for them?

Any child under the age of 2 is FREE when accompanied by an older sibling however they do not receive a present from Santa. If you would like them to receive a present please book them in as a regular ticket. We do have a mother and toddler experience available on certain days, you can find out more and book by calling the Grotto Hotline on 01652 638 285

Can I bring more than 2 adults?

Yes but subject to availability as we are limited on space in the Grottos. Please call the Grotto Hotline for more details and to book. Unfortunately due to health and safety we have to restrict the number of customers that enter the Grotto at any one time, therefore we cannot admit additional customers unless we have space in that session.
